Who we are
At its core, Daugavpils Geek is a group of like-minded people with mutual interests. In legal terms we are a non-profit organisation, but in general, we are just a board game club in Daugavpils, Latvia. We are friendly and welcoming to any and all. As we already have some common hobbies, things like age, gender, ethnicity or social statuses don't bother us that much.
What we do
Put simply, we play board games, help others learn how to play board games, provide a place and accessories for others to host board game events. We also promote boardgames that are not widely known and/or represented in our town. Although having fun is an integral part of what we do, our interests mostly revolve around complex titles that require time, dedication and practice.

Probably the most known brand in tabletop wargames. Set in the grim darkness of the far future, this universe has mighty armies clashing on countless war-torn worlds. Humanity stands alone, beset on all sides by the threats of the heretic, the mutant and the alien. If you've heard that "In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war", you've heard of Warhammer 40,000.

Even those who are not into geeky hobbies know about Dungeons & Dragons. At its heart, this fantasy tabletop role-playing-game is focused on storytelling. Players form an adventuring party who explore fantasy worlds together as they embark on epic quests and level up in experience. Everything is your decision, from what you look like, to how you act, to what happens next. There's no winning or losing in D&D — at least, not in the conventional way.

Created in 1993, Magic: The Gathering is a strategy card game where each player takes the role of a planeswalker, a powerful, magic-wielding being. Each player uses their own deck of cards that represent various spells, allowing the planeswalker to summon creatures or inflict damage to the opponent. With more than 20,000 unique cards, Magic is a game of hidden information, meaning that each player knows secrets that the other players do not.
Where to find us
The best way to join our community is by visiting our club at Muitas st. 1, Daugavpils.
We don't have somebody there at all times, so it's better to contact us in advance if you'd like to pay us a visit. Most of our social media is in Russian, but we will answer you in Rus / Lat / Eng if you chat us up there.
Our friends
It might not be that obvious, but when you want to play boardgames, you need somebody to play them with. Here are some of the organisations, businesses and communities that we've partnered with or just met along the way and are proud to call our friends.
That's all, folks!
